Eight groups in your class are each responsible for a different aspect of surveying the campus for a suitable rain garden location. Features to consider include water flow, topography, sun/shade patterns, land surface, vegetation, wildlife, traffic, and land use. A guide sheet is provided for each team, so gather up some clipboards and head out for a scout! This particular activity is the fourth in a unit on designing a rain garden. Be aware that if you are going through the unit with primary learners, they will not be able to perform the analysis on their own.
