Non-Point Source Pollution Program

Written as field trip preparation to Gateway National Recreation Area, this resource is also appropriate for any class that is studying the impact of human activity on the environment. During the first activity, learners identify biodegradable items within the classroom. In the second activity, they observe and compare the biodegradation of three different items. Finally, they observe the effects of high pollutants on water quality and plant growth. These are terrific activities to incorporate into your environment curriculum.
