Natural Selection

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Instructional Ideas
  • Extend the learning opportunity by holding a debate covering the topic of natural selection versus scientific selection
  • Cross-curricular connection to language arts and/or the debate team allows for team teaching
Classroom Considerations
  • The lesson works well in a flipped classroom doing only the experiment in class
  • In a gifted class, be sure to emphasize picking up the most obvious prey squares quickly so they don't try to alter the data intentionally
  • This is the third resource in a series of five lessons
Pros
  • Includes scientific definition of theory
  • Materials are readily available
Cons
  • Document permissions do not allow for printing
