Moon Craters Lab

Students explore characteristics of mass. In this scientific inquiry about mass instructional activity, students drop rocks of different weights from various heights and record the depth of the "crater" created.  Students record their findings on a data table and transfer them to a graph.  Students identify relationships between the mass of the rock, the height from which it was dropped, and the size of the resulting crater. Students create a PowerPoint presentation about this experiment.
