Instructional Ideas

  1. A great addition to math rotations in a primary grade classroom
  2. If projection technology is available, play games as a whole class, choosing students to participate one at a time
  3. Offer as a reward for good behavior

Classroom Considerations

Application allows for three different users on a single mobile device. If enough resources are available, create an account for each student and set the difficulty to adjust automatically. Otherwise, consider naming the three accounts Easy, Medium, and Hard, manually setting the difficulty for each.

Be sure to instruct your class not to press the For Grown Ups button. This connects to the settings menu which is easily unlocked by swiping two fingers in a given direction, allowing access to facebook and Twitter.

Pros

  • Provides positive, encouraging feedback when questions are correctly answered
  • Interface is very simple and easy to use
  • Includes three levels of difficulty that can be adjusted manually or or set to change automatically with game play

Cons

  • Randomly selects from nine different games, not allowing the teacher to focus on a particular concept or skill
