How many pennies does each person get? There are four visual division problems for young mathematicians to solve, and they divide 12 pennies among a set of people for each. They draw the coins above each recipient and then write the number sentence that shows how many cents each person gets. Scholars divide by 2, 6, 1, and 12 for these (no remainders). There is an example shown to get them started. As an extension, consider putting kids into groups and giving them a handful of pennies. How would they determine an equal distribution? What number sentence demonstrates this?
