Students use a chart of the six simple machines and become aware of how the machines improve our ability to meet the following needs: shelter, food, water, and transportation. Students use model cars to experiment with force. They divide into groups and go through work stations with the six simple machines, filling out a packet. Students do various art projects to show machines they would invent and machines they have observed.
