A large magnet is inserted into a tank of floating iron filings to reveal the magnetic field. Use this to show the shape of a magnetic field as well as how its strength appears to decrease the farther away from the magnet. The video is only 33 seconds long, hardly worth showing on its own. However, it would make a tremendous visual to incorporate into a PowerPoint or Smart Board presentation.
