Playing pretend with real objects or concepts is a wonderful way for learners to make object-to-action connections, as well as practice daily living skills. Learners with visual and intellectual disabilities use a wide variety of real objects as props as they enact a series of make-believe scenarios. Tip: Have learners role-play with the objects as they are normally used, and then have them think of less conventional ways to use the same objects.
