Young scholars describe the process of transesterification utilizing chemical formulas. They construct and compare models of chemical structure of the substances involved in biodiesel production such as: alcohols, alkenes, alkanes, alkyls, acids, esters, etc. Students identify fuel properties and resulting issues.
