Find The Hidden Message: Media Literacy in Primary Grades

Learners practice listening to and reading various types of media and text. In groups, learners use video, newspapers, magazines, and more to compare and contrast different types of information. They identify the differences between fact and fantasy as well as discuss strategies used by the media to influence our thoughts and ideas. This plan requires a lot of teacher guidance, and it includes some example questions to pose to young learners. Note: Many activities are based on a video.
