What mood does this story evoke? How are setting and mood linked? Young novelists explore the different emotions brought about by writing, starting by journaling things that inspire their own feelings. Examine the word mood, looking into how setting can help set it. This is part of a larger novel-writing unit, and although the worksheets aren't included, they can easily be found online. Pupils practice creating different moods through the use of language and apply this descriptive writing lesson to their own novels.
