Students investigate how American colonists felt they would be impacted by conflict with the British. In this colonial America instructional activity, students examine the Declaration of Independence, papers from the Committees of Correspondence, and letters written by John and Abigail Adams. Student pay attention to the mention of slaves and women in the documents and determine how they were impacted by the break with Britain.
