Lesson Plan

Jamestown Fort: Finding History

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Students identify artifacts discovered from the exploration of the Jamestown fort in order to help them create a short fictional account about the lives of Jamestown's first inhabitants. In this history activity, students research the founding date of Jamestown, artifacts that have been recovered from the sight, and the design of the town. Students apply this knowledge of the Jamestown colony by authoring a historic account of life in Jamestown.
