Instructional Ideas

  • Tally each group's hypothesis on the board; after the activity, have each group explain why their hypothesis was or was not correct

Classroom Considerations

  • Activity assumes scholars have an understanding of pH and conductivity
  • Video link in resources is incorrect; the correct link is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9S3oC7Oui8
  • Activity best fits middle school or lower level high school classes
  • Resource requires pH and conductivity meters

Pros

  • Activity provides simple lab worksheets
  • Classes may complete the lab by either watching the video (link found in classroom considerations) demo or completing it in class

Cons

  • None
