Third graders use strips of paper to find equivalent fractions. They will fold paper into thirds and shade 2/3 of the paper. Then fold the same paper in six parts and predict how many parts will be shaded. They will repeat again folding the paper into 12 parts. In the end, they record their findings each time they fold, and use fraction circles to find 1/4. They will complete worksheets as they work along.
