So what do you do when you have to solve an equation that has a negative variable? There are a couple of ways to solve this problem. In this video, the instructor first demonstrates how to use the multiplication property of -1 to get rid of the negative in front of the variable. She then uses the addition rule of equality to isolate the variable to solve the equation.
