How Do You Multiply Quotients of Monomials by Canceling Factors?

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Multiply algebraic fractions. But first cancel or reduce the numerators and denominators, then do the multiplying. Cancel out the common factors in these monomials. It is always a good idea to reduce as much as possible before multiplying. It is much simpler to do it before than having to reduce numbers after they have been multiplied.
