Fifth graders investigate aspects of the Civil War. For this history lesson, 5th graders complete several tasks involving the economy, culture, and geography of the Civil War. First, students are divided into groups to study primary source documents and complete associated tasks. Students are then paired together to complete a Venn Diagram and list facts that vary between the North and South. An extension activity to write a 3-paragraph essay is also included.
