Help your learners understand the parts of speech with this color-coding activity. While reading a short passage, readers circle the nouns with blue, the verbs with red, and the adjectives with green. When they are done, scholars list the words in a chart at the bottom of the page dividing them into the three categories: nouns, verbs, and adjectives. When they are complete, learners could share and compare their work with a partner before reviewing as a class.
