How much gas does it take to drive around town? The class uses a variety of mathematical procedures to take a look at the use of gas for transportation. Class members use a different unit to determine the cost of driving a car as opposed to miles per gallon. They find the distances from their home to locations they frequently travel and reflect upon the amount of gas used to do so. Using historical data on gas supply and demand, travelers determine lines of best fit and solve the system of supply and demand.
