Here are some instructions for leading learners through a hands-on activity for investigating ultraviolet radiation. First, introduce them to light and refraction. Then introduce them to the electromagnetic spectrum. Finally, give individuals a chance to write a message with a cotton swab and liquid bluing agent. These messages are placed under a UV light so that they can observe fluorescence. There are no handouts or materials lists for these activities, so you will need to do some advanced preparation.
