Explain an exponential number. Sal shows that five to the third power is 5x5x5 while 5x3 is 5+5+5. He demonstrates that they have very different answers. Note: This is part two in a set of videos on exponents. It may serve students best if this video were shown first. It contains simpler problems that are worked out completely. It also incorporates the idea that multiplication is repeated addition, while exponents are repeated multiplication.
