Eternal Egypt: Spherical Silver Cruet for Wine

Curated by ACT

The spherical silver cruet is a type of vessel made to hold wine or water for the Eucharist in the Coptic Mass. It has a narrow mouth and a small base that probably contained a glass vessel. The cruet is decorated on the outer surface with small adjacent circles that form clusters of grapes.
