Do Dea: Art Appreciation: Unit 5: 3 D Art

Curated by ACT

This fifth unit of a course on Art Appreciation looks at different forms of three-dimensional art. Students learn about sculpture and its history, government-funded art works, and controversy in art. They look at other types of 3-D media, including basketry, pottery, porcelain, masks, and modern media. They also learn about earthworks, which are large pieces of art created outdoors. A final assignment in this unit has students create a piece of 3-D art or a travel brochure highlighting the world's best earthworks.
