Prowl like a dinosaur! Choose several students to be the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs with dodge balls are the taggers, and the Triceratops on the scooters are the freers. As the other players are tagged with balls, the Triceratops scoot around to free them, and the players get back in the game.

Instructional Ideas

  • Coordinate with a science teacher and play the game while learners are studying dinosaurs
  • Ensure safety rules are in place about using the scooters
  • Give the different dinosaur taggers different colored jerseys or balls so other players can distinguish which type

Classroom Considerations

  • Intended for the teacher, but can also be shows to students as well
  • Dodge balls and scooters are required
  • Best played on a smooth surface
  • This video is hosted on YouTube

Pros

  • A fun twist on tag

Cons

  • Could be dangerous with balls and scooters flying around the gym area
