Even though this is technically an art lesson, haiku poetry is actually the main focus! Learners view photographs of Japanese tea caddies. They list five descriptive words for the caddies, then write haiku poems using the caddies as inspiration. There are lots of marvelous attachments that come with the lesson including; photographs, a video of a tea ceremony, examples of printable haiku poems, and other photographs of Japanese art that comes from their cultural love of tea.
