Instructional Ideas
  • Take writers outside, have them lay down and look up at the sky, and tell them to write down their descriptions in an Interactive Writing Journal 
  • If going outside is not an option, have multiple pictures of the sky—printed or projected—readily available for learners to examine 
  • After participants write their descriptions, add a visual component; have them draw what they saw and attach it to their writing
