Color Mixing Wheel

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Two scientific concepts can be taught with this activity. First, the mixing of primary colors is demonstrated. As the color wheel spins, red, yellow, and blue are no longer visible; secondary colors orange, purple, and green appear in their place! Another phenomenon occurring is that the disc continues to spin back and forth, thus demonstrating momentum. Search online for a color wheel template or draw your own to photocopy and distribute to your class.
