Another A+ instructional activity on the impact of climate change comes to you from the National Earth Science Teachers Association. In this installment, learners model the stratification of water in lakes due to temperature differences. The lab also provides a visual display of what happens to the profile as lake water warms up. Follow the activity with a discussion of how the mixing of water depletes oxygen available to the organisms living in the lake. This resource really drives home how global warming can affect freshwater ecosystems.
