Be a Problem Solving Star

Encourage scholars to problem solve everyday frustrations using the STAR method. Using the acronym, learners remember to stop, think, act, and review. Participants begin with a math analogy in which they problem-solve to find the correct answer then discuss situations the technique would be most helpful.

  • Create a STAR-themed bulletin board, display the meaning of each letter alongside stars decorated by participants
  • Direct pupils to attach the STAR worksheet to their interactive notebook for easy reference while they work
