This is a unit plan designed for a class that meets for approximately 60-96 minutes. It is also recommended that this project be used to conclude a unit that covers European exploration and the Columbian Exchange. Students will work collaboratively with a partner to create an "Old World" or "New World" restaurant menu. Old World restaurants must only serve foods that are made with ingredients that can only be found in "Old World" countries and vice versa. In this Students will be required to give the restaurant a historically referenced name and theme and use desktop publishing software to create their menu. Once menus have been produced, students will then orally present the menu to a panel of judges or their peers.
