Alex: Let's Go Fishing for Positive and Negative Integers

Curated by ACT

This activity will actively engage students in a fishing tournament that uses ordered pairs to catch fish. As students begin to catch the hidden fish, they will find a relationship between the integers in the ordered pairs. By identifying the coordinates of a point on the Cartesian plane, students will earn points by catching minnows, mackerel, red snapper, or sharks. Extension activities include Interactive games, board games, and videos. Your students will have fun listening to a fishing song.
