Young scholars explore African clothing. In this African culture social studies lesson plan, students brainstorm types of clothing they wear for different occasions. Young scholars view photographs of Africans wearing Western clothing and "special occasion" clothing, then draw conclusions about the reasons Africans might wear each item. Students construct and illustrate a book depicting African clothing.
