Is a list of literary terms found frequently on AP English exams of value to test takers? Now there's a rhetorical question. Here's a list that provides definitions for everything from allegory to vernacular. To say the list is of value to AP test takers would be an understatement, and to miss out on the resource would be a tragedy.

- Near the beginning of the course (or at Halloween, perhaps) assign each class member a term and ask them to develop a costume and a two to three minute presentation that makes their term memorable
- Divide the terms among groups, have the groups find examples in literary works, and add these examples to a document that can be shared with all class members
