- Have your class write a letter from the perspective of another soldier from the war (perhaps a higher ranking official, Washington himself, or a British soldier)
- Encourage discussion about each question, and have learners provide evidence from the text about their responses
Classroom Considerations
- The first question may throw some learners off, as the letter describes the officer as German, and they may mistake that direct description for a character trait, rather than the correct answer that is implied
- Writing style is simplistic, making it suitable for younger readers as well
