Students study Norman Borlaug. For this reading and math lesson, students research Norman Borlaug's work and write a narrative interview with Borlaug. Students complete a variety of activities using wheat stalks.

Seventh graders examine the concept of sterile techniques. They realize that plant diseases can be identified and classified in various way. Students identify some of the diseases that attack the garden plants.
