Using paper and a pencil, produce a pop-up puppet of a groundhog that peers out and over it's burrow to tell us when Spring is coming. 

Students read books, learn about the letter g, and complete coloring pages all to learn about Groundhog Day. In this Groundhog Day lesson plan, students also sing songs, and discuss the history of Punxsetawney Phil.
