Students examine the impact of pollution. In this pollution instructional activity, students watch Protecting Our Planet, then participate in a simulation of the effect of pollution on a variety of organisms.

Each of the three activities submitted presents difficult science topics in the context of the human experience. The activities focus on real-world problems, which have science components, from the students' perspectives.

Students calculate the distance formula. In this geometry lesson, students find the distance between two points on a coordinate plane. They identify the four different quadrants.

Students create sets of similar triangles which, when fixed together with a piece of Scotch tape, form a spiral-like, segmented shape, slightly similar to the cross section of the shell of a nautilus.
