News 12 reported that several dismembered body parts were found at Southards Pond Park on Thursday.

Police say it appears that the human remains are recent and that the remains found on the eastern edge of the park appear to be male.

Police say the search at Southards Pond Park concluded around 4:45 p.m. Friday. The park has reopened.

Police say they do not have any information on gender or condition of the remains.

Village officials posted online late this morning that Suffolk police closed the park for an investigation.
