Southwest, which had canceled thousands of flights every day this week after a winter storm last weekend, reported fewer than 40 cancellations Friday.

After canceling another 2,350 flights Thursday, the company said it expects to be back to regular scheduling by Friday.

The National Weather Service reported 190 million people are under winter weather advisories.

Southwest Airlines says weather stranded crews all over the country without enough replacements available in the big hubs.

Southwest Airlines canceled 2,900 flights Monday, according to FlightAware. Nearly 2,500 more flights had already been canceled as of Tuesday morning.

Southwest is having issues the other airlines aren't because of a lack of investment in modern technology.
