Moldovans voted on Sunday in a parliamentary election that could deepen the split between pro-Western and pro-Russia forces in the former Soviet republic.

No party secured a majority in Moldova's parliamentary elections, near final results showed Monday, a development that leaves the former Soviet republic in limbo between pro-Western and pro-Russia forces.

A caretaker Democratic Party-led government in Moldova says it will resign in order to end a power struggle that has heightened political tensions in the impoverished ex-Soviet republic.
