Young scholars create paper beads from colorful paper recycled from catalogs, magazines, brochures, colored paper scraps, wrapping paper, and junk mail. Students create a colorful necklace from their beads.

Students, in groups, "shop" for eleven different items in a large mail order catalog. They locate the items and complete the order form. As a class, they discuss ways to find things more quickly.
