Students work with a school in another country to produce a Global Story Book. They write stories and design pictures that describe both cultures.

Students listen to Ruth Stiles Gannett's book My Father's Dragon. They predict the outcome of the story. They discuss the events in the story. They sequence the events in the story.

Third graders learn the song "Blow the Man Down" and know that it is a work song. They differentiate between loud and soft singing. They use body movements to reinforce the recognition of music in 3/4 time.

Students imagine themselves as 'witnesses' to historical events in different time periods in the Irish conflict. They write 'day in the life' accounts of their 'place' in Irish history.
