Upper graders solve problems involving measurement of squares and rectangles to practice multiplication skills, finding area, and calculating prices and percentages. A performance assessment is included.

Third graders, in pairs, use a bag of counters which can be dried beans, squares of papers, etc.

Students listen carefully and react quickly to the circumstances. While working on these skills, students practice physical skills like throwing, catching and defending.

Students participate in a WebQuest in which they must determine which amusement park is the "median priced" park. Students visit park websites to accumulate prices for parking, activities, restaurants, and gift shops.

Students practice basic addition and subtration facts to twelve and use thinking skills to win at tick tack toe.

Students strengthen skills in mathematics, problem solving, and communication skills by working together in groups using "Hot Dog Stand: The Works" educational software.

Seventh graders play a number strategy and addition game.

Young scholars read, write, and identify different coin combinations and use this information in real-world situations.
