Students create Sumi-e paintings and explore the various materials, techniques, and processes associated with those paintings in an effort to better understand Japanese art and culture.

Young scholars create replicas of Japanese woodblock prints using their own art as the basis for design in this excellent cross-curricular Art project applicable to Language Arts, Social Studies, or Art classrooms.
