Students explore algebraic concepts using real life situations.  In this equations lesson, students develop strategies to solve missing number problems. Students participate in a board game based on algebraic equations.

Learners explore the graphing calculator feature on the Macintosh computer to explore some "parent" functions and their translations, combinations, and composites.

Pupils are introduced to the function and design of the following Lego pieces: beams, bricks, plates, axles, tires, hubs and bushings. They then work with a partner to build something using only these pieces.
