The "When I Grow Up" series of career lessons and activities are designed to get high schoolers thinking about post-secondary pathways. Learners begin by working on defining their vision and identifying their dream job. They rate their skills and create an action plan that includes specific steps to improve these skills. Another lesson has pupils identify their preferred lifestyle and research the types of careers that would finance this lifestyle. As the series continues, class members examine sample job postings, and critique sample resumes to understand how to craft a strong resume. They create a complete and professional-looking job application and resume and practice responding to typical interview questions. To understand the dynamics of working with diverse personalities, teams compete in the classic egg drop exercise. Finally, individuals use a scale developed by recruiters to rate their social media posts.
