Celebrating Fall

Taking advantage of the beauty and fun of the season in the classroom.

By Mollie Moore

fall leaves

Fall is upon us, whether the weather has received the memo or not! For many children all over the country, the seasonal changes are obvious. For others, the signs are less apparent. Regardless of location, seasons always invite opportunities for fun and exciting lessons and activities.

From color-changing leaves, to turkeys and Thanksgiving math lessons, the possibilities are endless when it comes to sprucing up your lessons and student-made classroom decor during the delightful autumn months:

      • Would you share your favorite fall activity or lesson for the elementary classroom?
      • How have you incorporated history, science, math, and writing into your seasonal lessons?
      • What have you found excites children, and what has not been as successful as you hoped or expected?
