"Thermal Radiation" is a straightforward assessment of future physicists' understanding of radiant energy. They write out answers to questions about wavelength and frequency, temperature relationships, absorption and emission. The physics class mascot, Fluffy, makes an appearance, wanting to know how much energy is contained in his snacks, so learners use calorimetry to determine calorie content. They also compute the rate of heat transfer across a metal plate. Excellent!
